ISMG President Duncan Boyer
FROM THE PRESIDENT

As hard as it is to believe 2012 is over. I know we are all glad that the Mayan Calendar was incorrect and the world did not end on 12/21/12. ISMG stayed busy in 2012 providing security personnel and security solutions for a variety of situations:
  • Addition of new clients
  • Additional security sites with existing clients
  • Occupy Atlanta
  • Republican National Convention
  • Democratic National Convention
  • Hurricane Isaac
  • Major national trade shows

Everyone at ISMG is excited about what we have in front of us in 2013. Our acquisition of Premier Protective Services in Charlotte, NC was recently completed. The North Carolina market in now being run by David Bailey a seasoned professional who was the owner of Premier Protective Services. Additionally we started providing security services in Puerto Rico headed up by Rafael Marrero as our General Manager. Rafael has an extensive security background and is assisted by his Regional Manager Ron Orasi.

We also expect 2013 to be another year that continues to provide new and greater technology options in the security industry. Both the GRIP and VAST platforms offered by ISMG have been a major success and we are currently very excited about the not-too-far in the future roll out of the next generation of both platforms.
Once again this year, we held our annual Manager's Meeting at the Marietta Conference Center to discuss the successes of 2012 and to look ahead to 2013.

Managers from all 15 markets came in for a weekend of meetings and awards. We took care of business and enjoyed a holiday get together as well. Please enjoy our pictures and remember to see a larger image, just click on that photo.

1. Of course I look familiar. I was here just last week cleaning your carpets, painting your shutters, or delivering your new refrigerator.
2. Yes, I really do look for newspapers piled up on the driveway. And I might leave a pizza flyer in your front door to see how long it takes you to remove it.
3. I always knock first. If you answer, I'll ask for directions somewhere or offer to clean your gutters. (Don't take me up on it.)
4. To you, leaving that window open just a crack during the day is a way to let in a little fresh air. To me, it's an invitation.
5. Sometimes, I carry a clipboard. Sometimes, I dress like a lawn guy and carry a rake. I do my best to never, ever look like a crook.
6. Here's a helpful hint: I almost never go into kids' rooms.
7. If it snows while you're out of town, get a neighbor to create car and foot tracks into the house. Untouched drifts in the driveway are a dead giveaway.
8. Thanks for letting me use the bathroom when I was working in your yard last week. While I was in there, I unlatched the back window to make my return a little easier.
9. Avoid announcing your vacation on your Facebook page. It's easier than you think to look up your address.
10.The two things I hate most: loud dogs and nosy neighbors.

These hints come from Richard T. Wright, a criminology professor at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, who interviewed 105 burglars for his book Burglars on the Job Look throughout our newsletter for even more tips!

ASSISTED AND DEPENDENT LIVING

We all wish for the very best when it comes to everyday living and for the most part we all want the same thing - to have a comfortable, convenient, and welcoming atmosphere for our community and residents.

Given the choice, most elders would prefer to continue to live in their own homes. Unfortunately the majority of elderly people gradually loses functioning ability and requires either additional assistance in the home or a move to an eldercare community. Remember, we all think we will be healthy, active and independent forever! read more...
